My little story…

Hi there! I’m Andrea. {teacher, storyteller, artist}

I never knew I was an artist until I took a giant risk in 2010 and decided to take a break from my life’s work and first love: teaching. In those eight years home with my two boys, I taught myself so much more than how to work my camera. I learned to let life unfold around me. I learned to live a little more slowly. I learned to SEE. (I mean quite literally… I taught myself to see light and ordinary beauty that I never ever noticed before.)

Now I photograph families in their home in a documentary style. I have two classes, The Stories that Make Us and The Family Story Keeper to help other people use their cameras as tools for seeing.

I’ve carved out a job as a mirror holder. You don’t think your life is beautiful? I know it is. Through my images, I’ll hold up a mirror to your regular, extraordinary life. (Just wait till you see it!) You don’t think you’re an artist? If you’re human, you were born to create. This I can show you, too.

Real life is beautiful!
